Late last year, it was revealed that Elon Musk was planning a working class neighborhood near Manor, Texas that he called “Project Amazing.”Since then, it has been approved for development, according to documents from a Sept. 12 Bastrop County commissioners meeting, and returned to court this week to approve a new layout.
Appropriate Street Names
The project includes four street names – Cutterhead Xing, Porpoise Place, Boring Boulevard and Waterjet Way. There are also plans for at least 500 homes with access to ride-sharing services from Boring Co., according to the documents related to the development. It is expected that these homes will be built on an area adjacent to where Musk is building facilities for Boring Co and SpaceX in Travis County near Manor, Texas.
Central Texas Jobs
In addition to these homes, Musk has also filed permits with Travis County for a commercial launch facility that would include office buildings and research and development centers. This would bring thousands of jobs into the region and help attract even more high-paying tech firms into Central Texas, further increasing demand on local real estate markets while also pushing up prices in certain areas.
Central Texas Real Estate Impacted by Musk
Musk’s presence in Central Texas is clearly having an impact on the local economy; just recently it was reported that Tesla had purchased land near Austin International Airport with plans to build an electric car factory nearby. This could mean even more jobs as well as increased real estate demand in surrounding areas due to people looking for nearby housing options available within commute distance of the Tesla factory.
Elon Musk’s presence in Central Texas is already having an impact on the regional economy, with his “Project Amazing” subdivision providing yet another piece of evidence of this effect. This project includes at least 500 homes with access to ride-sharing services from Boring Co., which will no doubt draw many potential homebuyers into the area looking for affordable housing options near their workplace or places of study. In addition, Tesla’s recent purchase of land near Austin International Airport suggests that even more jobs are headed into Central Texas soon—which means even higher real estate demand in surrounding regions!
